This was one of my texbooks in college. I bought my college text, and I bought this one for a friend who is also a high school theatre director. Lots of great ideas for what to do with those lights you bought for the auditorium and don't know quite how to make look spectacular, and great instructions for building safe scenery that's also easy to move. When the shop teacher isn't willing, and you've got the skills yourself, this is to go-to how-to.

Got this book for a tech theatre class and it has been very helpful in understanding the material. It is well split off into the different sections of set, sounds, light, design, etc. Pictures and diagrams help offset the text.

Great book, very informative. Perfect for anyone interested in what goes on behind the scenes and set in films and theatre. Probably best book I've ever seen on theatre, and a real deal price, too. Love it, and read it all the time.

The book itself gives a good overview of the tech. thea and production process. If you are looking for very specific information on departments (prop, costume, TD, LX, drafting... ect) there are better books on the market. some of which are very expensive. But for myself wold be please to use this as a supplemental material in a stagecraft 101 class.It uses good illustrations, and gives real world applications.

My son who is studying theater lighting and design was very excited to receive this book for reference. The text and pictures are clear and demonstrate information that was useful in his learning. Well constructed book.

I needed this for class but a lot of it can be applied to normal everyday stuff. I can’t complain!
