This book was an easy read. Mike's experience stems from over 10 years of living in Davao and traveling to many other parts of the Philippines. He not only touches on the usual "do's and don'ts" for both new and experienced travelers in Chapter 1, but he also delves into understanding the culture and mentality of the locals -- especially when it comes to Filipina women. If you're interested or are in a relationship with a Filipina, you need to read this book. The key to a successful relationship with a Filipina is to understand the way the think and the way they feel, and Mike extensively examines this subject in Chapter 2. Chapter 3 is more of an added bonus, as it mainly touches on different geographical locations of the Philippines.Simply put, Mike knows the Philippines like a local, and he's a westerner himself, and that's really what it all comes down to. That combination of being able to think like a Filipino, as a westerner, is a rarity in the Philippines, and it is undoubtedly one of the most crucial keys to truly experiencing all of what the Philippines has to offer. This guide will show the reader how it's done.

It was a good read for someone interested in visiting the Philippines and dating a filipina. Basically, Mike gives quick advice on where to go, what to look out for as far as the women, and dangers of visiting the country as a foreigner.

Overall, I think it was a great read. As a quick guide, it was imformative. There is no way I could give it less than 5 stars! Having said, i really enjoyed the information regarding "touch down" at the airport. The information regarding taxis will be very useful. My only recommendation would be to include more info along the lines of the taxis. What should you do regarding exchanging USD for Pesos? Can this be done at the airport? What should or shouldn't you do when clearing customs? Please let me reiterate, this was a great read!

If you're considering going to the Philippines for vacationing or retirement, then this is a fantastic book for you a understanding of the people and the tropical culture. The subjects are not sugar coated. A mandatory read to prepare you for a great P experience. How to have a positive dating relationship with a Filipina and much more. Carry this book with your passport to make your visit in the Philippines more memorable. A very easy read.

This one is real. Finally something that touches more then enough to give a UHD view of the Philippines.... Vivid and clear. The Doc has prescribed you something..... The book was long enough to make me miss the place..... And also short enough to make you realized that if you haven't visited then you should......... Just get it...Ordering the hard copies for gifts........
